Central Jersey Technical Rescue consists of 24 highly trained volunteers. Members medical qualifications range from CPR to Registered Nurse. CJTRT members have training in the following specialized areas of rescue: High and Steep Angle Rope Rescue, both Urban and Wilderness Search and Rescue and we have 4 canine teams. The team is equipped and able to respond to any type of rescue that requires ropes (i.e.: vertical incidents, slope evacuations, and water incidents.)

Rich Oros - Team Leader

Rich has been married for 30 years to Sharon and has one daughter. He grew up in the Woodbridge New Jersey area and has lived in Bridgewater for the past 27 years. He retired from Verizon after 30 years, spending his last 8 years in Computer Security. Rich is a former Marine and a Vietnam Veteran and a former VFW Post Commander. He is presently a member of the Somerville Kiwanis and a Past-President of that club. He spent 8 years as a Key Club advisor for the Somerville, Bridgewater-Raritan and Manville High School.

Rich became a member of the Central Jersey Technical Rescue Team in April of 2005. He completed Fundamentals of Search and Rescue, and is presently Certified as a SarTech III and a C.E.R.T. team member. Rich is certified in National Incident Management System courses, ICS-100, 200, 317 and 700.

Future plans are to train and certify his Border Collie, Shelby, for SAR work. During the spring, summer and fall months he can be found on a golf course enjoying his retirement.
