Central Jersey Technical Rescue consists of 24 highly trained volunteers. Members medical qualifications range from CPR to Registered Nurse. CJTRT members have training in the following specialized areas of rescue: High and Steep Angle Rope Rescue, both Urban and Wilderness Search and Rescue and we have 4 canine teams. The team is equipped and able to respond to any type of rescue that requires ropes (i.e.: vertical incidents, slope evacuations, and water incidents.)
Nick Luiten - SARTECH III
Nick got his start in search and rescue in 2003 as member of the Potomac Valley Rescue Group (PVRG), a member of the Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference (ASRC), based out of College Park, MD. While with PVRG, Nick obtained ASRC Field Team Member (FTM) status. He is certified as a SARTECH III with the National Association of Search and Rescue and is working towards his SARTECH II certification. Nick joined the Central Jersey Technical Rescue Team in 2005.
While living in College Park, MD, Nick also completed the FEMA Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training and was a member of College Park's CERT. In addition, Nick is certified in CPR, AED, First Aid and has completed the ICS-100, ICS-200, NIMS-700 and NRP-800 courses.
Nick recently joined his local volunteer fire company, Rumson Borough Fire Department. He will be starting his fire service training in March '06, taking Firefighter I at Middletown Fire Academy."
