Central Jersey Technical Rescue consists of 24 highly trained volunteers. Members medical qualifications range from CPR to Registered Nurse. CJTRT members have training in the following specialized areas of rescue: High and Steep Angle Rope Rescue, both Urban and Wilderness Search and Rescue and we have 4 canine teams. The team is equipped and able to respond to any type of rescue that requires ropes (i.e.: vertical incidents, slope evacuations, and water incidents.)
Peter Giesin - Team Leader
Pete has lived and worked in the New Jersey area for the past 10 years. Prior to this he has spent his whole life in the heart of the Catskills working the family farm. He presently lives in the Piscataway area with his wife and 2 kids. Pete currently owns and operates a computer software consulting firm based in Metuchen, NJ.
Pete became a member of the Central Jersey Technical Rescue Team in November of 2004. He has completed Fundamentals of Search and Rescue, and is presently certified as a SARTech III. Pete is currently part of a small team that is establishing a Technical Rescue component of the Central Jersey Technical Rescue team. He is certified in Basic Rope and Rigging.
Future plans include continued training in SAR techniques and management, plus technical rescue. He hopes to show that age does not matter. |
