Sartech III & II, ERI's Managing Search Operations, Over The Edge and Ropes
That Rescue for technical rope training and Montgomery County, PA Fire
Academy Classes. terrain."
The two most amazing rescues that Bud remembers are the Edison Pipeline explosion in 1994 and The Holmdel Search for a missing 10 year old in 2002. To have something that sounded like an airplane crash less than 10 miles from your home wake you up in the middle of the night as happened at the Edison Pipeline Explosion was incredible. There was a huge amount of property damage and only one fatality, a miracle. We were called in the next AM to assist in searching the ruins of the apartments. It was later that afternoon that all residents were accounted for. At the Holmdel 2002 search our team spent 3 days during the worst snowstorm in years searching for a 10 year old boy who ran away from his mother. We were the first SAR team on the scene and we quickly set up Search Operations under the authority of the Holmdel Police Department. The beginning of the third day the boy was located, safe, and returned to his grateful family. |
