Brian is a Ph.D. student in oceanography at Rutgers University. A native
Texan, most of his time is spent in the laboratory or on research cruises
in the middle of various oceans. In his spare time (such as it is), he
enjoys multiple outdoor activities (caving, camping, canoeing, and other
recreations not starting with a 'c' , reading, and gaming. He is also an
avid eater of cheese.
Brian started his rescue work as a member of the Aggie Speleological
Society at Texas A&M (fortunately not responding to situations of A&M
members). From there, he joined the Wind River SAR team in Washington
(state), until moving to NJ for grad school. Brian is certified as a
wilderness EMT and SarTech III (with Sartech II on the way). He has taken
courses in cave/high angle/small party rescue, Intro to SAR, Fundamentals
of SAR, Intro to NIMS, ICS-100, ICS-200, and EMS Operations at Multiple
Casualty Incidents.
