Troubled teenager back at Pa. home

EAST BRUNSWICK: Michael Berger, the 18-year-old former township resident reported missing and suicidal earlier this week, returned to his King of Prussia, Pa., home on Thursday, police said.

Berger's disappearance early Wednesday morning followed an argument with his girlfriend, who lives in South River.

After breaking a bottle, Berger fled into the woods near Pine Ridge threatening to kill himself with a shard of glass, according to police. His girlfriend then called police.

A detective from the East Brunswick Investigative Unit was in contact with Berger Thursday afternoon, and police were satisfied he was safe, police said.

Search efforts were concluded.

Attempts to reach Berger were unsuccessful.
